Aion: first world pvp

Level 24. I found this spot in Morheim with a crapload of veggie nodes.   Awesomeness!    I was just running around the area outside of the flight path gathering when I got jumped by a couple of Elyos: a gladiator named MeloDirazi & a chanter named VolcanuSx.

They got me to 20% almost immediately, & I shielded & ran like a bitch until I saw an Asmodian cleric named healerako jump in.   Well, shit.   I turned around & started nuking.

My pet was gone.   It was an Earth pet, which can take a lot of hits but doesn't do as much damage as the other pets, & I think they wasted at least a few seconds killing it.   They should have just ignored it & they would have had me.

I haven't played a Cleric very far (haven't played anything very far for that matter), but between healerako & me, I think we outdamaged the Chanter's heals until the gladiator had to run away.   I'd been at about 20% from the start, but while MeloDirazi got healerako's health down, I'd gotten his health down as well.   I kept him off healerako with stuns, snares & root.

Mapping Pernon, Part Two

I may not last long because I had a pretty taxing Sunday night.

When I logged out last, I was in the SW quadrant of Pernon, Halcya State.   The Teleporter in Spire Isle (its capital?) showed me the names of all the Halcya villages, but I still have to run through them & get screenshots (& paint!).   Maybe I should go get a diet coke.

So far I am really liking the looks of Halcya State.   IRL I'd rather live on a mountain than by the sea, but the little rivers & beaches are very charming.

Mapping Pernon, Part One

So here I am, running around at level 23.   I did all the Campaign quests in Altgard so it's time to move on to Morheim.   I like Morheim.   Except I get ganked there.   I am so unbloodthirsty in this game.   I don't think of my class as pvp competent, either.

I'm still running around Pernon.   I've decided I want to map all the villages.   As well as find the blue paint plant.   Yesterday I figured out that you get Guestpetals from fertilizing your friends' Guestblooms.   And none of the guys have any Guestblooms in their houses, so I used the Random option on the Relationship crystal & ended up at some dude's house where there were 5 Guestblooms.   I fertilized!   I got petals!

Decided to go to the guestbloom merchant in Pernon Plaza myself.   The guestblooms are expensive as shit.   I guess I know why no one has any!   The cheapest one was a little over 100k, which I could afford, but it only gives up bronze coins, which, as far as I know, only purchase stuff right around my level or lower, so the guys wouldn't really have much use for them.

Mochachocolata Gets A Studio

At level 21 you can teleport to Pernon (for Asmodae) & claim a free studio.   The quest to do this is given right where you land from the teleport.   There are a handful of different villages; the free studio is, of course, in the cheapest one.   You can move to more affluent neighborhoods, but then you gotta pay rent.  Anyway, this is the first time I've ever bothered to do the housing thing on any of my characters, so it was actually kind of exciting.

This is my front porch.

Aion, scenic views

I'm still running around the newbie zones taking pictures of everything.   As mentioned in the previous posts, we started off playing Asmodae but ended up playing Elyos since Ino sucks, but now that Diablo 3 has come out I'm pretty much the only one left here, so I'm back playing Asmodian.

I still have a bunch of Elyos screenshots to post though.   I figure I'd better post what I've got - Elyos & Asmodae both -  now so I don't get too mixed up.

At right is my Elyos Spiritmaster.   Yeah, I like that hairdo.   I don't know why.   I think it shows off her haircolor well.   Channon suggested that it looks like Princess Leia but... meh, I guess it could.   Since I have to stare at the back of her head all the time I picked a 'do that looks nice from the back.   Can't say as much for the outfits the characters wear in this game, though.

Aion: playing Elyos

Ino sucks.

He couldn't play Asmodian with us on Tiamat so we all rolled Elyos on the new server, Kahrun (I think that's what it's called).   It's kind of hard to make an Elyos character that doesn't look anime.   There are a number of preset faces that look super Asian, & the rest all look like Chun Li.   Even using the Advanced controls this was the best I could do.

She looks about as dangerous as that Asmodae I rolled in the last blog whose face I just couldn't stand after a few levels.   At least she doesn't look like she's ditching her 4th grade class to run around in the forest.   It's at least her algebra class.   Maybe even Alg II.

Anyway, this was the best I could do.
