Aion, scenic views

I'm still running around the newbie zones taking pictures of everything.   As mentioned in the previous posts, we started off playing Asmodae but ended up playing Elyos since Ino sucks, but now that Diablo 3 has come out I'm pretty much the only one left here, so I'm back playing Asmodian.

I still have a bunch of Elyos screenshots to post though.   I figure I'd better post what I've got - Elyos & Asmodae both -  now so I don't get too mixed up.

At right is my Elyos Spiritmaster.   Yeah, I like that hairdo.   I don't know why.   I think it shows off her haircolor well.   Channon suggested that it looks like Princess Leia but... meh, I guess it could.   Since I have to stare at the back of her head all the time I picked a 'do that looks nice from the back.   Can't say as much for the outfits the characters wear in this game, though.

Aion: playing Elyos

Ino sucks.

He couldn't play Asmodian with us on Tiamat so we all rolled Elyos on the new server, Kahrun (I think that's what it's called).   It's kind of hard to make an Elyos character that doesn't look anime.   There are a number of preset faces that look super Asian, & the rest all look like Chun Li.   Even using the Advanced controls this was the best I could do.

She looks about as dangerous as that Asmodae I rolled in the last blog whose face I just couldn't stand after a few levels.   At least she doesn't look like she's ditching her 4th grade class to run around in the forest.   It's at least her algebra class.   Maybe even Alg II.

Anyway, this was the best I could do.

Return To Aion

Yesterday Ben informed us that Aion has now become free to play.   With no subscription fee required I no longer had an excuse to limp about groaning about how much I miss playing Aion & how it had the best soundtrack ever, blah blah.   There was my metal encased Collectors' Edition sitting in the CD rack right next to my bed.   I dusted it off, installed the game, & commenced with the 4 hours of patch.

My characters were still intact, although sporting some extra letters in their names due to previous server merges.   No problem; each character that had been moved had a Name Change thingy in their ingame inventory which was very easy to use.   However, because I had forgotten how everything went, I decided to roll a level 1.   Besides, the fun in this game is the sightseeing.   I wanted to revisit everything.

I had always used the same face on my Asmodae characters.   This time I thought maybe I should try something different.   There are a ton of looks to choose from in the character creation screen - seriously.   And once you've picked one of them there are a bunch of Advanced controls with which you can tweak specific facial features.   The Advanced controls aren't as extensive as other games I've played & generally speaking no matter what you do every toon's nose is going to look the same unless you go for waaay big or waaay small, but they're ok.   I picked a face I thought I could live with, tweaked it as much as I could, & started her up.
